CTP Chairman Tufan Erhürman Visits Communal Democracy Party
CTP Chairman Tufan Erhürman recently paid a visit to the Communal Democracy Party alongside members of the party’s Central Executive Board. During the visit, various topics were discussed, including the upcoming Parliamentary presidential election, the demand for early elections, and other pressing issues on the country’s agenda.
Prior to the meeting, Zeki Çeler, Chairman of the Communal Democracy Party, expressed his concerns that the Assembly has become disconnected from society. He criticized the government’s decisions, labeling them as “so-called decisions” and emphasized the need for the Parliament to expedite the election process.
In light of the recent delay in choosing a Parliament Speaker within the 10-day Constitutional process, Çeler raised concerns about potential constitutional violations. He highlighted the societal troubles facing the country and underscored the collaborative efforts between the Socialist Democracy Party and the Republican Turkish Party to instill hope in society.
Tufan Erhürman, Chairman of the Republican Turkish Party, echoed the call for early elections, emphasizing that the current issues have been brewing for some time. He criticized the government’s handling of parliamentary affairs, highlighting the lack of effective governance and dismissing Ziya Öztürkler’s claim to the Presidency of the Parliament.
Erhürman lamented the lack of representation in the Parliament, noting that despite the presence of 29 Members of Parliament, their voices were not being heard. He stressed the urgent need for early elections as a crucial step towards addressing the societal challenges at hand.
The meeting between CTP and the Communal Democracy Party sheds light on the growing concerns about the state of governance in the country and the pressing need for political reforms to restore trust and stability in society.
