Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu recently met with students from Newcastle University in England and the Faculty of Political Sciences at Girne American University (GAU). During separate meetings with the student groups, Minister Ertuğruloğlu provided valuable insights on the current situation in Cyprus.
According to information shared by the Ministry, Minister Ertuğruloğlu held a briefing session at the Uğur Umar Conference Hall, where he discussed the ongoing negotiations and the challenges faced in resolving the longstanding Cyprus issue. He emphasized that the failure of negotiations over the past 60 years can be attributed to the incorrect diagnoses and biased opinions of the international community.
Minister Ertuğruloğlu also highlighted the new vision of the Turkish side on Cyprus, which centers around the principles of sovereign equality and equal international status. By advocating for these principles, it is believed that a fair and sustainable solution to the Cyprus issue can be achieved.
The meetings with the students from Newcastle University and GAU provided a valuable opportunity for dialogue and exchange of perspectives on the complex situation in Cyprus.
