Ertuğruloğlu Celebrates BRTK’s 60th Anniversary
Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, has praised the resilience and dedication of Bayrak Radio (BRTK) as the Turkish Cypriot broadcaster celebrates its 60th anniversary. The minister highlighted the significant role that BRTK has played in representing the voice of the Turkish Cypriots, especially during challenging times such as the attacks of December 21, 1963, known as “Bloody Christmas”.
Ertuğruloğlu expressed gratitude to the Republic of Turkey for its support and contributions to BRTK, which has grown to include 3 television channels, 6 radio stations, foreign language broadcasts, and digital platforms. He also extended his congratulations to all those who have contributed to the development and success of BRTK over the years.
The minister emphasized the broadcaster’s continued commitment to upholding the founding mission of being the voice of the Turkish Cypriots, and commended BRTK for its pioneering role in the Turkish Cypriot press.
As BRTK marks this milestone anniversary, Ertuğruloğlu paid tribute to the self-sacrificing Mujahideen and honored those who have passed away, acknowledging their role in keeping the flag of the Turkish Cypriots’ struggle for existence high.
