Erzincan Chilled: Night Temperatures Plummet to -22.5°C
The coldest place in Turkey has been recorded as Ovit in İkizdere district of Rize, with a temperature of 22.5 degrees. This information comes from the Automatic Meteorology Observation Station of the General Directorate of Meteorology, which monitors meteorological parameters in various provinces and districts.
Following Ovit, other extremely cold temperatures were observed in different locations across Turkey. Yaylalar village of Bayburt recorded a temperature of minus 20.8 degrees, while İspir/Ulutaş of Erzurum experienced minus 20.5 degrees. In Damal district of Ardahan, the temperature dropped to minus 20.4 degrees, and Hacıömer village in Erzurum’s Tekman district recorded a temperature of minus 20 degrees. Additionally, Ardahan Yalnızçam Ski Resort experienced a temperature of minus 20.3 degrees, while Erzincan Sakaltutan Pass and Sivas İmranlı recorded temperatures of minus 20.1 degrees each.
