Hakan Fidan Attends Gaza Temas Group Meeting in Cairo
According to information obtained from sources at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, head of the Turkish Intelligence Agency (MIT), attended a meeting in Egypt’s capital, Cairo, as part of the Arabic Union Gaza Temas Group.
During the meeting, Fidan highlighted the ongoing issues in Gaza, including genocide, forced displacement, and apartheid. He specifically pointed out the Israeli air strikes on March 18 as a part of Israel’s broader agenda in the region.
Fidan emphasized that Israel’s actions, such as preventing the transportation of humanitarian aid and targeting territories in Syria and Lebanon, are clear indicators of their expansionist policies. He stated, “It is imperative to put an end to the destruction of Gaza and establish a permanent ceasefire. This cannot be achieved without stopping Israel’s aggressive actions.”
Fidan also called for utilizing platforms such as the United Nations to establish both emergency and permanent ceasefires in the region. He mentioned that Egypt’s Gaza plan, supported by all Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) countries, provides a constructive framework for moving forward.
The discussions at the meeting centered around finding ways to address the challenges facing Gaza and to work towards a sustainable solution for the region. Minister Fidan’s participation in the Gaza Temas Group Meeting signals Turkey’s commitment to addressing the ongoing crisis and promoting peace in the region.
