Two Brothers Rescued in Hong Kong After Terrifying Incident
In a heart-stopping incident in Hong Kong, two brothers aged 3 and 5 years old were spotted sitting on an apartment front, just inches away from falling. The images taken by horrified onlookers quickly prompted calls to the fire and police departments for help.
As soon as the neighbors noticed the children in danger, emergency teams rushed to the scene to launch a rescue operation. The building, called “Wong Lok House,” had a locked door, but firefighters managed to reach the open window by forcibly opening it.
One of the children was safely rescued by a firefighter who was hanging down with a rope. The second child, however, was still in peril. A firefighter connected to a security belt hung from above and was able to bring the child to safety amid applause from the spectators.
Both children were taken to the hospital for a check-up while the authorities located their parents, a 30-year-old mother and a 33-year-old father, nearby. The parents were temporarily detained on charges of neglecting their children, a crime that carries a sentence of up to 10 years in prison in Hong Kong.
This heart-wrenching incident serves as a reminder of the importance of child safety and the consequences of neglect. Thankfully, due to the quick action of the emergency teams, a tragedy was averted, and the children are safe and sound.
