
Esendağlı: Reaching the Decision Stage – BRTK

Bar Association President Hasan Esendağlı recently spoke to BRT after the court took a break for a decision. Esendağlı highlighted the challenges faced by the prosecution in merging the case with the Public Officials Case, as the indictment had not yet been filed. He emphasized that without the necessary grounds, the court was unable to merge the cases and expressed the need to follow proper procedures regarding public officials involved.
Esendağlı also acknowledged the court’s focus on concluding the case efficiently, understanding the pressure it imposes on both the city and the court. He emphasized the importance of reaching a decision soon, as the case has been ongoing for some time. The President of the Bar Association noted that the court had followed a different procedure than expected, and now they were at the decision-making stage.
Despite no additional defense procedures being carried out in court, Esendağlı stressed the importance of abiding by the court’s decision. He mentioned that the lack of additional procedures gives them an indication of what the final decision might be. Esendağlı concluded by stating that they would carefully consider their next steps following the court’s decision.
