During their visit, the ambassadors engaged in a series of meetings with Kazakh Deputy Foreign Minister Roman Vassilenko and EU Ambassador to Kazakhstan Aleška Simkić to discuss ways to strengthen ties between the two regions.

The delegation began their visit at Auezov South Kazakhstan University, where they met with students to discuss the role of educational diplomacy in fostering global partnerships. They also participated in a tree-planting ceremony on the university grounds.

In addition to their educational activities, the ambassadors explored Shymkent’s industrial potential by visiting leading enterprises such as Santo, BalTextile, and KazAlpack. They praised the city’s modern technologies and strong export capabilities. The delegation also had the opportunity to tour the city’s newly built equestrian complex and witness traditional Kazakh sports.

Apart from their activities in Shymkent, the delegation also traveled to the Turkistan Region, where they met with governor Nuralkhan Kusherov to discuss the potential for expanding trade and economic ties. The region, which hosts a large number of small and medium-sized businesses, has attracted significant investments in various sectors including industry, real estate, agriculture, tourism, and renewable energy.

The delegation also had the chance to explore the cultural sights of the city, including the Flying Theater, which left a lasting impression on EU Ambassador Aleška Simkić.
