
Evacuation of Hungarian, Czech, French, and Slovak citizens from Lebanon by Hungarian Army aircraft – PHOTOS

The Hungarian government has taken action to ensure the safety of its citizens living in Lebanon amid escalating events in the Middle East. Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó announced on Thursday that the foreign ministry has contacted 165 Hungarian citizens in Lebanon and offered assistance for their return to Hungary.
In a joint operation with the defence ministry, 18 Hungarian citizens and their family members are already on their way back to Hungary. Szijjártó emphasized the government’s commitment to ensuring the safety of Hungarian people and the need to act swiftly in response to the heightened risk in the region.
After confirming the well-being of the Hungarian citizens in Lebanon, the ministry arranged for their return via a Hungarian Army aircraft. Out of the 165 contacted individuals, 18 have accepted the offer, including seven children and their direct relatives. Additionally, the operation also included the evacuation of 11 foreigners, including Czech, French, and Slovak citizens.
Szijjártó acknowledged that similar operations have been conducted in the region before and emphasized the importance of working with allies to ensure the safe return of all citizens. A Hungarian Army aircraft has already left Lebanon carrying the returning Hungarians and foreigners.
The Hungarian government’s swift response to the escalating events in the Middle East highlights its commitment to the safety and well-being of its citizens abroad. This operation serves as a testament to Hungary’s dedication to protecting its people in times of crisis.
