CNN TÜRK Reporter Melike Görür recently reported on a meeting between CHP Chairman Özel and former Chairman Kılıçdaroğlu, held at the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality (ABB) Mogan Facility. The meeting, which focused on changes to be made to the party statute, lasted approximately two and a half hours behind closed doors.
Ankara Provincial Chairman Ümit Erkol was the first to arrive at the meeting, followed by Özel and Yavaş in the same vehicle, and then Kılıçdaroğlu. During the meeting, Özel presented a comprehensive overview of the proposed changes to Kılıçdaroğlu, touching on all articles in the draft text.
Kılıçdaroğlu reportedly did not make many comments during the meeting, instead asking questions to better understand the proposed changes. It is noted that there is a consensus on the agenda. Once the draft text is finalized, it will be sent to Kılıçdaroğlu for review.
Following the meeting, there are additional important discussions scheduled for the day. The party assembly is set to convene at 10:00, and at 16:00, Özgür Özel will meet with MPs at the General Directorate. It is expected that the draft text will be fully established after these meetings.
One key topic of discussion during the meeting was the primary election. It was mentioned that some organizations were in favor of the primary election, while others were not. A decision on the primary election will likely be made following the outcome of these meetings.
