Reception Held at Edirne Governorate for Police Garden Meriç Social Facilities
A special reception was held at the Edirne Governorate for the Police Garden Meriç Social Facilities, attended by various high-ranking officials and dignitaries. Edirne Governor Yunus Sezer, Edirne Garrison Commander Brigadier General Yuksel Kolcu, Edirne Chief Public Prosecutor Mustafa Cakmak, and Edirne Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Colonel Mehmet Kasim Ermiş were among the attendees, along with corporate managers, chambers and stock exchange heads, as well as martyrs and members of the police force.
During the reception, Governor Yunus Sezer praised the Turkish Police Organization as a longstanding institution that has been combatting crimes and criminals for 180 years. He emphasized the importance of the police force in maintaining security, especially in border provinces like Edirne. The Governor expressed his pride in Edirne’s ranking among the top five provinces in terms of security.
Edirne Police Chief Onur Karaburun highlighted the legacy of martyrs, veterans, and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, urging the future generations to continue their devoted work with confidence and strength.
One of the highlights of the reception was a thrilling show presented by the submersible police on the Meriç River. Police officers dived into the river with a Zodiac boat, unfurling the Turkish flag on the water. Accompanied by torches, they displayed a banner with the message ‘police give peace and confidence’. The audience was captivated by the show, which was later shared on the social media accounts of the Edirne Police Department and garnered widespread attention and praise.
The reception served as a tribute to the dedication and bravery of the police force, showcasing their commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the community.
