Exploring Opportunities for Collaboration with the Islamic Development Bank
Turkmenistan and Islamic Development Bank discuss long-term cooperation
On 20 September 2024, a meeting took place between the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, Rashid Meredov, and the President of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB), Muhammad Sulaiman Al Jasser.
The meeting focused on the priority areas of long-term cooperation between Turkmenistan and the IDB, as well as opportunities to enhance their longstanding partnership.
During the discussion, it was highlighted that over the past 30 years of Turkmenistan’s membership in the Bank, the IDB has played a crucial role in financing more than 20 important projects in the country. These projects have contributed to the development of key sectors such as infrastructure, healthcare, education, and agriculture.
Both parties expressed their commitment to further strengthening their collaboration and exploring new areas of cooperation. They also discussed the importance of promoting sustainable development, fostering economic growth, and addressing common challenges in the region.
