The Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, along with the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey and the Cyprus Foundations Administration, is continuing to organize programs for the Sultan of the Eleven Months, inviting the masses to share in the blessings of the month of Ramadan.
In Nicosia, at the Hz. Abu Bakr Mosque, an iftar tent has been set up where long queues form as iftar time approaches. This tent brings together 500 people who share in the spiritual atmosphere and joy of breaking fast together.
Craftsmen have been preparing delicious menus every evening since the beginning of Ramadan. The iftar tent brings together hundreds of people who share in the happiness and spirituality of breaking fast with the call to prayer.
Religious Officer Ali Bardak shared how hundreds of citizens, especially students, have been coming together for both Sahur and iftar events throughout the month of Ramadan. Despite the large turnout of 500 people every evening, the tent is still not enough to accommodate everyone.
University student Mehmet Yıldız expressed how he feels at home even though he is far from his family. He thanked the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey for providing this opportunity during the month of Ramadan.
Children, like 7 and a half-year-old Liyana Rafizade, have been enjoying the iftar tables with their families. Liyana expressed her love for the food and the positive feelings the month of Ramadan brings.
Omar Elbeyi, who attended his first iftar at the tent with his wife, expressed his gratitude for the organization and the warm atmosphere. Belinay Açık, a high school student, shared how she feels the spirituality of Ramadan even more when sharing the iftar table with friends.
This iftar tent has become a place of gathering, gratitude, and reflection for the community, allowing them to come together and share in the blessings of the holy month.
