Exploring the Genius of JK Rowling: Author of the Harry Potter series
JK Rowling, the renowned author whose passion for writing started at a young age, has captured the hearts of readers around the world. Born in England in 1965, she did not conform to any specific genre and wrote what she wanted to write, leading to immense success in her career.
After leaving school in 1983, JK Rowling went on to study French Language and Literature at the University of Exeter. Not only known for her Harry Potter series, she also published books under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, with the name Katleen inspired by her grandmother.
The turning point in her career came with the publication of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 1997. Rowling conceived the idea of the multi-award-winning series during a train journey back from Manchester, where she had gone to look at a house for the weekend. That very night, she began writing the first few pages of the book.
The Harry Potter series, which has a massive fan base to this day, has been successfully adapted into films. In 2015, Rowling collaborated with other writers to create the play Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, which later became a bestselling book.
Beyond her Harry Potter legacy, Rowling wrote under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith for works such as The Cuckoo’s Calling and also authored an adventure book called The Empty Seat. Her versatility and creativity have solidified her status as one of the most beloved authors of our time.
