VAJ Café emerges as one of the trendiest spots for young coffee enthusiasts and breakfast lovers in Budapest. The name “VAJ” meaning butter in Hungarian, promises delectable homemade pastries prepared with high-quality butter. In addition to their enticing pastry selection, they offer a wide variety of sourdough bread, scrumptious sandwiches, seasonal desserts, specialty coffees, and teas. With three convenient locations in Budapest, VAJ Café is easily accessible and open every day. During our visit to their café on József Boulevard in the 8th district, we savored a delightful toast and cappuccino. Despite the presence of numerous pigeons around, which may bother some, our experience at VAJ Café was thoroughly satisfying, and we look forward to revisiting this charming café in Budapest.
Csendes Café – Quiet Living Room:
Csendes Café, also known as the Quiet Living Room, offers a cozy and laid-back ambiance reminiscent of a ruin bar. Located in the 5th district on Ferenczy István Street near Astoria, this café is a popular hangout spot for students due to its relaxed vibes and budget-friendly prices. The eclectic and colorful interior of Csendes reflects its simplicity and uniqueness. In the evening, you can enjoy a dose of caffeine in this charming setting without breaking the bank. During the summer, patrons can also sit outside by the local park and soak in the vibrant atmosphere.
Cat Café Budapest:
As cat lovers, we couldn’t resist visiting Cat Café Budapest, a charming café located near St. Stephen’s Basilica. This PURRfect café houses 15 adorable cats, ranging from majestic Maine Coons to lovable rescue cats. While there may be a wait to enter, the experience is well worth it. Upon arrival, guests are briefed on the café’s rules, which include refraining from feeding the cats or using flash photography. However, visitors are encouraged to play with and pet the feline residents. Cat Café Budapest offers a selection of coffees and refreshing lemonades to beat the summer heat.
