A lavish tribal wedding in Turkey’s Gebze district of Kocaeli made headlines as the bride was gifted 3 kilograms of gold and the groom received a staggering 4 million 50 thousand TL.
The extravagant ceremony brought together thousands of guests, including tribal leaders, opinion influencers, and business tycoons to celebrate the union of Serhat, the son of Tunay and Zafer Özbağ, and Şevval, the daughter of Ayşe and Erdal Bitirgiç.
Guests at the wedding spared no expense, competing to give the most extravagant gifts. The bride received a total of 3 kilograms of gold, including a 900-gram belt, while the groom was handed an eye-watering sum of 4 million 50 thousand TL.
To accommodate the bulky sum of money, a team of 8 individuals had to carefully pack the cash, which included dollars and euros, into a suitcase. However, the cash proved too much for the suitcase to handle, leading to the need for an additional bag to hold the remaining amount.
The opulent celebration carried on into the late hours of the night, with festivities and merriment marking the joyous occasion.
