
Fake bomb threat for Palace of Versailles in France results in 8-month imprisonment

Man Sentenced for Making Fake Bomb Threat at Palace of Versailles
A 37-year-old individual, who allegedly made a fake bomb threat at the Palace of Versailles on October 19, has appeared before a judge, according to national media reports.
The defendant was found guilty by the Judicial Court of Versailles and has been sentenced to 8 months’ suspended prison sentence. Additionally, the court has ordered the individual to receive psychological treatment.
The defendant, who had no previous criminal record and was unemployed, reportedly suffers from schizophrenia and lives with his family.
Recently, the Palace of Versailles has faced multiple evacuations due to fake bomb threats. Across the country, there are currently 64 investigations ongoing due to the rising number of fake bomb threats in public places such as schools, airports, and museums.
On October 20, the police were able to identify and apprehend the person responsible for the evacuation at the Palace of Versailles. The individual was caught after making a fake bomb threat via phone call.
Efforts are being made to ensure the safety and security of public areas, as the authorities work diligently to address this concerning trend of fake bomb threats.
