A 19-year-old man from Trabzon had his New Year’s Eve plans ruined when he fell victim to a fraudulent escort scam. The young man, identified as MT, met the escort online and agreed to transfer 100,000 liras to her account. However, after the money was sent, the woman disappeared, ignoring all of MT’s attempts to contact her.
MT, feeling deceived, reported the incident to the police, who have launched an investigation into the matter with the help of the Trabzon Police Department Anti-Cyber Crime teams. Meanwhile, MT remains determined to seek justice for his loss.
This unfortunate event serves as a reminder to always exercise caution and verify the authenticity of individuals and services, especially when conducting transactions online.
