Famous Actor Yusuf Atala Arrested in Million-Dollar Operation
Yalova Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office has taken decisive action following numerous complaints from the public. The incident involved tens of thousands of victims and prompted a two-year covert investigation led by the Provincial Police Department Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch Directorate in coordination with the Prosecutor’s Office.
Police uncovered evidence that led to the dismantling of an organization responsible for crimes such as “Establishing a Criminal Organization for Self-interest, Qualified Fraud, Bribery, and Opposition to the Tax Procedural Law.”
The organization, headed by Orhan Karaderili, set up 21 different companies to carry out fraudulent activities, using relatives as fronts to avoid legal repercussions. They illegally sold share title deeds in various districts, defrauding countless citizens in the process.
One key figure in the organization was marketing director Yusuf Atala, a well-known actor who played a crucial role in luring victims with promises of free holidays at Terma City Hotel. The suspects reportedly amassed illegal assets of billions of liras, defrauding victims of millions of liras every week.
In addition to fraudulent activities, the organization paid off complaint sites to delete negative feedback and exerted psychological pressure on victims to make purchases. Following the investigation, 29 individuals were detained, with 11 suspects being arrested and sent to prison.
Orhan Karadereli, Yusuf Atala, and several accomplices were charged with forming a criminal organization and other related crimes, leading to their incarceration at Kocaeli Kandıra Prison. The remaining suspects were released under judicial control pending further legal proceedings.
