Fatal Accident: Drunk Driver Evades Responsibility as Two Young Lives Tragically End
Two Young People Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident in Denizli, Turkey
A tragic hit-and-run accident occurred in the early hours of the morning in Denizli, Turkey, resulting in the death of two young individuals. The incident took place at around 01:00 on Kervansaray Mahallesi Barbaros Street.
According to eyewitnesses, the car involved, which had a Dutch license plate (KB-362-P), was being driven by Fatih Arıkan at an excessive speed. Arıkan allegedly crashed into Iklim Göksu Dönmez, who was attempting to cross the road. Another male, of the same age, was also hit by the car. At present, the identity of the second victim has not been determined.
The impact of the collision was so powerful that both young individuals were thrown onto the road, covered in blood. Shockingly, the driver fled the scene with his car, leaving the victims in a critical condition.
Upon receiving notification of the incident, emergency health and police teams were immediately dispatched to the accident location. Tragically, medical teams discovered that both victims had succumbed to their injuries.
Following an examination at the scene, the lifeless bodies of the two young individuals were transported to the morgue of Pamukkale University Hospital Forensic Medicine Institute. Meanwhile, the police launched a manhunt for the driver. Thankfully, the car was located parked on 4125 Street, approximately 2 kilometers away from the accident site.
In a shocking twist, further investigations revealed that the driver, Fatih Arıkan, was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident. Analysis indicated that his blood alcohol level was recorded at a staggering 2.25 promil. Arıkan was ultimately apprehended by the police and taken to the police station for questioning.
The investigation into the hit-and-run accident is ongoing, and authorities are determined to take appropriate legal action against the driver.
