Construction Company Owner Arrested for Murdering Girlfriend in Turkey
On June 29, a tragic incident occurred when Mustafa Bangiz, the owner of a construction company, allegedly attacked his girlfriend, Esra Asena Temir, leading to her untimely death. The couple had been walking together in the Toroslar district when an argument broke out in their car, with Bangiz allegedly assaulting Temir.
Temir was rushed to Toros State Hospital, but despite medical intervention, she succumbed to a brain hemorrhage caused by the severe beating. Bangiz attempted to flee the scene but was eventually apprehended and taken into custody. Following the completion of the investigation, an indictment was prepared against Bangiz for ‘intentional murder against a woman’, with a request for him to be tried for aggravated life imprisonment. The indictment conveyed that Temir’s death was the result of Bangiz’s brutal actions, and it was noted that instead of taking her to the hospital, he left her on the side of the road and called his family members to transport her to medical care.
The lawyer representing the Temir family, Serdan Söylemez, expressed their dissatisfaction with the indictment, citing that it did not include Bangiz’s family members as suspects despite their alleged involvement in the crime. Söylemez asserted that the murder was planned and orchestrated, and he emphasized the importance of holding all guilty parties accountable throughout the trial.
