Fatal collision between passenger bus and TIR leaves multiple casualties
One Dead and 32 Injured in a Collision Between a Passenger Bus and a Truck in Turkey
An unfortunate accident took place on the Elazig-Malatya highway, specifically at Koçharman Village. According to the available information, a passenger bus with license plate number 23 ADF 976, belonging to the BD administration and en route from Istanbul to Bingol, collided with a truck under the NT administration, bearing license plate number 16 ARS 957, which was traveling in the same direction. Tragically, one person lost their life in the accident, while 32 others sustained injuries.
Promptly after the accident, numerous drivers who witnessed the collision immediately reported the incident. Consequently, a significant number of emergency response teams were deployed to the scene, including health personnel, UMKE (National Medical Rescue Team), AFAD (Disaster and Emergency Management Authority), fire services, gendarmerie, and police teams. The injured individuals received immediate medical attention and were transported to local hospitals for further treatment, following initial interventions at the scene.
The deceased victim was taken to the morgue of Fırat University Hospital after the Public Prosecutor concluded the necessary investigation at the site.
Authorities have launched a thorough investigation to determine the cause of the accident and hold any responsible parties accountable. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for vigilant driving to prevent such tragic events from occurring in the future.
