Fatal Collision in Aksaray: Three Killed and Two Injured in Car Accident
Three people have died and two others were seriously injured in a horrific car accident on the Aksaray – Konya highway in Turkey. The collision occurred at the Bozcamahmut junction at the 60th kilometer mark, when a car travelling from Aksaray to Konya attempted to overtake another vehicle and crashed into it. Both cars ended up in the median and were nearly destroyed from the impact of the collision. Emergency services such as ambulances, police, gendarmerie, and Provincial Disaster Emergency (AFAD) teams rushed to the scene as soon as they were notified of the accident. Medical teams tended to the injured immediately after arriving at the accident site. Unfortunately, the driver of the car that was attempted to be overtaken, Seyit Ali Tarhan, along with his passengers, Meryem Tarhan and Adem Tarhan died at the scene.
The driver of the other vehicle, Aysel Gökkaya, along with her passenger were trapped in the car and had to be rescued by AFAD teams. They were then taken to a nearby hospital for emergency treatment. It has been reported that their conditions were serious.
The accident is currently under investigation, and photos of the crash site have been released. The collision has caused a lot of devastation, and it is essential that all drivers take extra precautions when driving to ensure that they can avoid any accidents.
In another incident that occurred in Turkey, two children and six individuals were injured after a light commercial vehicle going towards Tunceli fell into a field. The accident happened in the Kırmızıköprü locality of the Tunceli-Erzincan highway. Firefighters, health, and gendarmerie teams were quickly sent to the area, and the injured passengers were taken to Tunceli State Hospital by ambulance. An investigation has been launched into the cause of the accident.
