Fatal Collision in Manisa: Truck Hits Car on Roadside, Causing 1 Death and 3 Injuries
A fatal accident occurred on the Salihli-Köprübaşı Highway in the Taytan Neighborhood Bezirganlı area at 23.30. The incident involved a car with license plate number 45 SH 207, driven by a 72-year-old individual identified as YE, traveling from Salihli towards Köprübaşı. Due to a technical failure, the car veered off the right side of the road and was struck from behind by an unidentified truck with license plate number 35 T 1262.
Following the alert from other drivers in the vicinity, emergency response teams including health, fire, and gendarmerie were dispatched to the scene. The Manisa Metropolitan Fire Department responded to the location and successfully extracted three individuals who were trapped inside the car. Unfortunately, one of the passengers in the car, identified as Menekşe Ertuğrul (70), succumbed to her injuries. The driver (45) and another passenger, H.Ş.S. (6), sustained injuries and were rushed to Salihli State Hospital as well as private hospitals for medical treatment. Reports indicate that the driver and H.Ş.S. are in critical condition.
The body of Menekşe Ertuğrul was transported to Salihli State Hospital, and an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident. This tragic incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and vigilance while driving.
