Fatal collision involving 2 motorcycles and a bus in Sultangazi leaves 1 dead, 2 injured
A tragic accident occurred on the Northern Marmara Highway Cebeci Tunnel Yavuz Sultan Selim Bridge around 21:00. It is reported that a passenger bus heading to Malatya from Alibeyköy bus terminal collided with two motorcycles allegedly racing in the opposite direction.
The collision resulted in the death of one motorcycle driver at the scene while the driver of the other motorcycle was seriously injured. Additionally, the driver of the passenger bus and the second driver in the side seat sustained minor injuries due to the impact of the collision. Police and medical teams quickly responded to the scene and the injured were taken to the hospital after receiving initial treatment.
Crime scene investigation teams were deployed to the tunnel after the fatality was confirmed. The teams worked diligently to gather evidence and analyze the camera footage from the passenger bus in order to determine the cause of the accident.
As a result of the accident, traffic flow in the tunnel was restricted to a single lane, causing congestion in the area. The deceased motorcycle driver’s body was transferred to the morgue for further examination by the Forensic Medicine Institute. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
