Inheritance Dispute Turns Deadly in Milas: Uncle Murders Nephew
An inheritance dispute between two families in the Koru District of Milas district escalated into a violent armed fight. The incident occurred in front of a village house that could not be divided between the families. YA, a person involved in the dispute, shot his 28-year-old nephew and his brother with a gun. Tragically, Atilla Adar lost his life, and his father was injured and rushed to the hospital.
The disagreement over the village house, which the siblings were unable to share for a long time, led to the fatal incident. The two brothers, HA and YA, had been at odds due to the inheritance fight that had been ongoing for several months. The argument escalated again at midnight, resulting in YA opening fire on his brother and nephew with a rifle. Atilla Adar tragically died at the scene, while his father sustained injuries from the same gunshots.
Upon hearing the gunshots, villagers reported the incident to the authorities. Gendarmerie and medical teams were dispatched to the village. 112 Emergency Service teams confirmed Atilla Adar’s death and transported his injured father, HA, to Milas State Hospital for treatment.
The suspect, who used a gun to kill his nephew and wound his brother, surrendered to the gendarmerie along with the weapon he used. Following the crime scene investigation, Atilal Adar’s body was sent to the Muğla Forensic Medicine Institute for autopsy. The Public Prosecutor’s Office has initiated an investigation into the incident.
