Fatal Truck Accident in Yusufeli Tunnel: 1 Dead, 2 Injured
A tragic accident occurred in the T21 tunnel on the Artvin-Yusufeli highway, resulting in one death and two injuries. The incident took place in the evening hours when a truck, driven by Üresin Altun and en route from Erzurum to Artvin, lost control and crashed into the tunnel wall.
The driver, along with passengers Medine Altun and Fermiye Yıldız, sustained injuries from the impact. Prompt response from health and gendarmerie teams was initiated upon notification by passing drivers. The injured individuals were promptly extricated from the vehicle and transported to Artvin State Hospital for further medical treatment.
Despite medical interventions, Fermiye Yıldız tragically succumbed to her injuries. The accident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and the need for vigilance while driving. Our thoughts are with the families and loved ones affected by this devastating event.
