Father Takes 7-Year-Old Son Hostage for 12 Hours After Operation
A Father in Çubuk District Allegedly Takes Son Hostage
An alarming incident occurred in Çubuk district, Ankara, around 18:00 when a man, identified as Hasan V., reportedly took his 7-year-old son hostage in their home on the 2nd floor of a building. Hasan V., who had recently divorced his wife and was said to be struggling with psychological issues and substance addiction, had custody of his son’s mother, SY. Hasan V. allegedly refused to give his son, identified as MEV, to his mother and claimed to have taken him hostage with a gun.
The situation prompted a swift response from law enforcement, fire brigade, and medical teams, who arrived at the scene. When Hasan V. did not respond to calls from the authorities, including the dispatch of Police Special Operations (PÖH) teams, an operation was conducted after approximately 12 hours of attempted persuasion.
During the operation, MEV, the young hostage, emerged unharmed and was taken to the hospital for precautionary measures. Hasan V., on the other hand, reportedly fired at the police and was eventually neutralized by being shot in the leg and shoulder. He was subsequently taken to Çubuk State Hospital for treatment.
The incident has sparked an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the events. The well-being of both Hasan V. and his son, MEV, is of utmost importance as authorities work to piece together the details of the incident.
