FBI Investigating Drone Flight Before Trump Assassination Attempt
The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has revealed new details about the assassination attempt on former US President Donald Trump. FBI Director Wray shared information during a meeting with the US House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, shedding light on the events that took place during the rally in Butler, Pennsylvania on July 13.
According to Wray, the attacker, identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, flew a drone over the rally area approximately two hours before opening fire on Trump. The drone was flown about 183 meters away from the stage and was in the vicinity of the attack. Additionally, two explosive devices were found in Crooks’ vehicle and one in his home, all capable of being detonated remotely. Fortunately, the devices were not activated during the attack.
After the shooting, eight empty bullet casings were discovered on the roof, leading investigators to believe that Crooks acted alone in carrying out the attack. Wray emphasized that the assassination attempt was not just an attack on Trump, but an attack on democracy itself. The FBI is currently examining Crooks’ electronic devices to determine his motives for the act.
Despite Crooks being neutralized at the scene, the FBI’s investigation is ongoing to ensure that all aspects of the case are thoroughly examined. The tragic incident resulted in the death of one rally attendee and injuries to two others, highlighting the seriousness of the attack.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working tirelessly to uncover any additional information that may provide insight into the events leading up to the assassination attempt. The safety and security of public figures remain a top priority, and thorough measures are being taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
