February’s Budget Deficit Reaches 310 Billion Pounds – Latest Economic Update

The Ministry of Treasury and Finance has released the latest budget application results for February, showing an increase in both revenues and expenses compared to the same period last year.

According to the announcement, budget revenues in February rose by 34.9 percent to 723 billion 425 million pounds, while budget expenses increased by 49.8 percent to 1 trillion 33 billion 517 million pounds.

For the January-February period, budget revenues saw a substantial increase of 42.2 percent compared to the previous year, reaching 1 trillion 640 billion 508 million pounds. Budget expenses also rose by 43.3 percent during the same period, totaling 2 trillion 89 billion 859 million pounds.

The Central Government Budget showed a deficit of 310 billion 92 million pounds in February and a deficit of 449 billion 351 million pounds for the January-February period.

These results indicate a significant increase in both revenues and expenses, underscoring the government’s efforts to manage the budget during challenging economic times. The Ministry of Treasury and Finance will continue to monitor and adjust the budget to ensure fiscal stability and sustainability in the months ahead.
