A luxury villa site in Muğla’s Bodrum district has been slapped with a hefty fine of up to 106 thousand liras for dumping white sand on the beach. The incident occurred in the Gölköy District, where the site was seen bringing white sand to the beach.
Some of the white sand spilled onto the beach, while the rest remained in piles. Police teams quickly took action and conducted an investigation in the area. As a result, the teams imposed a total fine of 106 thousand liras, applying the maximum penalty in accordance with the Misdemeanor Law for dumping unnatural materials on the site and the beach, leading to environmental pollution.
In addition to the fine, a warning report was issued, giving the site a deadline of 2 days to remove the sand from the beach. The minutes regarding the issue were sent to relevant units and institutions for further action.
It is crucial to protect the environment and ensure that such incidents do not occur, as they can have detrimental effects on the ecosystem and the local community. Authorities are urging all individuals and sites to be responsible and respect the natural surroundings to preserve the beauty of Bodrum’s beaches.
