A devastating fire broke out at a cardboard manufacturing plant in the western province of Herat in Afghanistan, resulting in over $10 million in damage, according to a provincial official on Saturday.
The fire took place on Friday at approximately 5:00 pm at the cardboard factory located in the industrial town of Herat city, as reported by Hamidullah Khadim, the provincial head of the Chamber of Industry and Mines.
Khadim explained that the incident has led to losses exceeding $10 million, with the total investment in the factory estimated at $50 million. Fortunately, there were no casualties or injuries reported due to the fire.
Fire department personnel have been actively working to extinguish the blaze and prevent further damage. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
The authorities are coordinating efforts to assess the extent of the damage and provide necessary support to the affected factory. The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of fire safety measures in industrial facilities to prevent such incidents in the future.
