Fire Breaks Out at Budo Ferry Office

A fire broke out in the machine room of the “Yildirim Beyazit” ferry during BUDO’s Eminönü-Mudanya flight, causing panic among passengers and crew members. The exact cause of the fire has not yet been identified, but ferry officials were quick to extinguish it initially, only for it to reignite shortly after.
Fortunately, the fire was completely put out once the ferry was activated. However, some passengers and crew members suffered from smoke inhalation during the incident. As a result, the Bursa Marine Police, Coast Guard Command, Fire Department, and 112 Emergency Medical Teams were called to the scene at the Budo Pier in Mudanya district.
The emergency teams evacuated passengers from the ferry and provided necessary medical assistance to those affected by the smoke. Some individuals were subsequently taken to nearby hospitals for further treatment.
The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety measures on board ferries and the swift response of emergency services in handling such unexpected situations. BUDO has yet to provide further details on the cause of the fire and any measures that will be taken to prevent similar incidents in the future.
