Fire Contained, Cooling Efforts Begin – BRTK
The mayor of Tatlısu, Hayri Orçan, has announced that the fire in Tatlısu-Mersinlik has been mostly brought under control and efforts to cool down the area have begun.
Orçan mentioned that the quick intervention of a helicopter and military aircraft sent by the General Directorate of Forestry of the Republic of Turkey helped contain the fire. Currently, a helicopter is conducting a reconnaissance flight to gather information for continued cooling efforts throughout the night.
There has been a great show of solidarity in the region, with mobilization declared to extinguish the fire. Orçan stated that municipalities have brought all their teams to the area to assist in the containment efforts.
The situation is being closely monitored and efforts will continue through the night to ensure the fire is completely extinguished.
