A forest fire that broke out at noon today in the İncirli Cave location, southeast of Çınarlı village, has been successfully taken under control. A total of 2 thousand decares of land were burned in the fire.
Minister of Agriculture and Natural Resources Hüseyin Çavuş announced in a statement that the forest fire in the İncirli cave location has been completely contained. He expressed his gratitude to all the teams involved in the firefighting efforts, including the Security Forces Command, Turkish Cypriot Peace Forces, Civil Defense Organization personnel, Forestry Department personnel, and ready force teams, as well as regional municipalities and the public.
Minister Çavuş emphasized that the intensive air and ground interventions played a key role in controlling the fire. Cooling efforts are ongoing in the fire area to prevent any risk of re-ignition.
In addition to the İncirli Cave fire, another fire in the south of Alevkayası is being managed by police and fire brigades, supported by tankers from the Forestry Department, Civil Defense Organization, and regional municipalities. The steep and rugged terrain has presented challenges, with burns observed in some areas.
Efforts are being made to prevent the flames from spreading further into the forest area, with extensive environmental protection measures in place. The authorities continue to monitor the situation closely to ensure the safety of the surroundings.
