
Fire under control: Police report – BRTK

The fire that erupted in the hilly area between Altınova and Ağıllar villages in the İskele region has been successfully brought under control. According to reports from the Police Press Office, the fire started at 2:15 pm today and was quickly contained by the Police Fire Department, Forestry Department, Civil Defense teams, local work vehicles, and a firefighting helicopter.
Approximately 900 acres of land were affected by the fire, causing damage to dry grass, crops, maquis vegetation, as well as various pine, carob, and olive trees. Efforts to cool down the area and prevent any reignition are currently underway.
The collaborative efforts of multiple teams and the quick response to the fire have helped prevent any further spreading of the flames. The authorities are continuing to monitor the situation and ensure the safety of the area.
