Firefighters Week Celebrated with Events from September 25 to October 1

Firefighter Week, organized by the General Directorate of Police to raise awareness among all segments of society about fire prevention, combating fires, and taking preventive measures, is set to take place again this year between September 25 and October 1.
According to a statement from the PGM-Fire Department, a Fire Department Parade will be held on Wednesday from 17:00 to 18:00 on Mehmet Akif Street (Dereboyu) in Lefkoşa, between the Pronto Roundabout and the Citröen traffic lights junction, as part of the Fire Department Week events. The street will be closed to vehicle traffic during the parade.
Throughout the week, the Fire Chief will participate in TV and radio programs as a speaker. Information leaflets will be distributed by Fire Department personnel in all districts to educate the public on preventive measures against fires. Fire training sessions will also be organized for primary school students by Fire Department personnel. Additionally, visits will be made to sick and retired fire department personnel to show appreciation for their service.
A volleyball tournament will be held between the PGM-Fire Department and the District Fire Department Branches at the Lefkoşa Atatürk Sports Hall on September 30 and October 1.
To contribute to the increasing need for blood, a blood donation campaign will take place on Tuesday, October 1, at the Nicosia Fire Department in the Organized Industrial Zone. This initiative aims to support the community and make a difference in saving lives.
Firefighter Week provides a valuable opportunity for the community to come together in support of fire safety and prevention efforts. It serves as a reminder of the important role that firefighters play in keeping our neighborhoods and communities safe. Let’s all do our part in promoting fire safety and honoring the efforts of our firefighters.
