First Lady Sibel Tatar Emphasizes Prevention in Physiotherapy Workshop

Sibel Tatar, the wife of President Ersin Tatar, was present at the “Physiotherapy Workshop in Schools” hosted by the Eastern Mediterranean University. The event was described as an occasion for them to express their happiness in attending an event at the university, which is a source of pride for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
Mrs. Tatar stated that the university will continue to make strides in the coming days and emphasized the significance of implementing physiotherapy in schools. She also discussed the three separate workshops on “Family, Children, and Elderly” held under the auspices of the Presidency and her leadership.
Mrs. Tatar emphasized that the reports produced in the workshops must be followed and implemented. She highlighted the need for physiotherapists for children with special needs and the shortage of them in schools. While acknowledging the negative effects of technology on children’s development, she emphasized the importance of promoting activities that encourage socialization and movement.
Furthermore, Mrs. Tatar pointed out the necessity of preventive measures to improve the quality of life, particularly in raising awareness about obesity and scoliosis among children and adolescents.
In addition to discussing the preparation of handbooks for families of children with special needs, Mrs. Tatar announced plans to collaborate with Dr. Emirali Evcimen and EMU to produce a book explaining the importance of support services, including physiotherapy, for these families.
She concluded by congratulating all those involved in the workshop and expressing her best wishes for its success.
