
First Lady Sibel Tatar Visits Love Houses at Tangül Ünal Çağıner Foundation

Celebrating Compassion: Sibel Tatar’s Visit to Sevgi Houses
April 23, 2025 – In a heartwarming event that underscored the spirit of compassion and community, Sibel Tatar, the wife of President Ersin Tatar, visited the Tangül Ünal Çağıner Foundation Love Houses, part of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security’s social services. This visit was held in celebration of National Sovereignty and Children’s Day on April 23.
Accompanied by the President of the Bellapais Inner Wheel Club and its board members, Tatar engaged with the children and individuals with disabilities residing in the Sevgi Houses, distributing books and gifts to brighten their day. The significance of this philanthropic activity resonated with the attendees, drawing an enthusiastic response from both the children and the caregivers.
Sibel Tatar met with various officials, including Berna Bayur, Director of the Ministry of Labor and Social Security, and Alev Ecevit, Director of the Social Services Department. After distributing the thoughtful gifts, Tatar took the time to tour the living spaces, gaining insights into the day-to-day lives of the residents.
The visit featured the “23 April Fairy Caravan,” a fairy-tale workshop organized by the Children’s Foundation, which Tatar enthusiastically joined. During her address, she expressed her appreciation for the nurturing environment and the dedicated efforts of the staff. Tatar acknowledged the vital role of love and care in the development of children, emphasizing the importance of initiatives like the fairy-tale workshop in fostering a sense of community and emotional growth.
“Children here are hungry for compassion,” Sibel Tatar remarked, highlighting the need for ongoing activities that promote sharing love and joy. “Every little smile makes a difference,” she added.
Alev Ecevit noted the positive impact of such visits on the emotional well-being of the children, reinforcing the role of storytelling in enhancing their emotional memory. Osman Karamanlı, a manager at the Sevgi Houses, expressed gratitude for visitors who contribute to the children’s mental and social development.
The event was also graced by İçim Çağıner Kavuklu, President of the Board of Trustees of the Tangül Çağıner Foundation, who echoed the hopeful sentiments for the children’s futures. Mine Tokay, the President of the Bellapais Inner Wheel Club, highlighted their commitment to supporting both children and the elderly, stating, "The light in the children’s eyes made us very happy."
Actor Yurdaer Okur, who participated in the fairy-tale workshop, commended the organization behind such meaningful initiatives, emphasizing their importance in rekindling forgotten values within society.
