Passengers were informed that the flight would be rescheduled for 11:40 AM the next day, but it did not depart then either, resulting in police intervention to calm the frustrated passengers.

Unprecedented chaos in air travel
Recent weeks have seen a spike in delays and cancellations in European air travel, affecting travelers heading to events like the football World Cup, as reported by Telex. Budapest has been identified as a hotspot for delays in Europe, with airlines attributing the issues to congested airspace and air traffic control challenges.
Katalin Valentínyi, Deputy CEO of Communications and Government Relations at Budapest Airport, warned that delays could be expected throughout September due to various factors such as the summer season, tourist influx, and sporting events like the European Football Championship and the upcoming Paris Olympics.
