Fog Forces Closure of Dardanelles Strait to Transit Ships
The dense fog in the Dardanelles has caused disruptions in maritime transportation, leading to the closure of Bosphorus traffic to transit ships in both directions as of 02:00. The decrease in visibility has prompted officials from the Çanakkale Strait Vessel Traffic Services Directorate to warn ship captains entering from the north and south via radio of the closure. As a result, ships have been forced to wait in anchor areas until the fog dissipates. The safety of maritime transportation is of the utmost importance, and these measures have been taken to ensure the well-being of all involved.
