Footage captures tornado in Foça
The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) issued a yellow code for 45 provinces across Turkey, warning of heavy rain and storms. The city of Izmir was not exempt from this weather phenomenon, as it experienced heavy rain in the early hours of the morning. Despite the cloudy weather and intermittent light rain, the citizens of Izmir were surprised to witness a giant tornado forming off the coast of Foça’s Yenifoça District.
Citizens quickly pulled out their mobile phones to capture footage of the tornado as it emerged in the sea. Luckily, the tornado dissipated before making landfall, sparing the area from any potential damage.
The unusual weather patterns serve as a reminder of the importance of staying alert and prepared for extreme weather conditions. As the MGM continues to monitor the situation and issue warnings for various regions, residents are advised to stay indoors and take precautions to ensure their safety during this period of unpredictable weather.
