Foreign Diplomats in Hungary Receive Briefing on European Parliament Elections

The presidents of the National Election Office (NVI) and the National Election Committee (NVB) in Hungary recently met with foreign diplomats to discuss the upcoming European Parliament elections scheduled for 9 June. In addition to the EP elections, municipal and minority self-government elections will also be taking place on the same day.

During the meeting, NIV head Attila Nagy provided an overview of the election offices’ tasks, Hungary’s election law, the election system, and the provisions governing the three election procedures. NVB head Robert Sasvári also presented information on the responsibilities of the election committees and the basic rules regarding legal remedies.

The briefing was attended by nearly 60 diplomats representing over 45 countries, providing them with valuable insights into the upcoming elections in Hungary. This meeting aimed to ensure that foreign diplomats are informed and prepared for the upcoming voting processes, promoting transparency and understanding among international partners.
