Foreign Minister Çavuşoğlu pays visit to ASBU

Minister of National Education Signs Cooperation Protocol with Ankara Social Sciences University
Minister of National Education, Nazım Çavuşoğlu, recently visited Ankara Social Sciences University (ASBU) along with his delegation. During the visit, Çavuşoğlu explored the former Prime Ministry building, including the office rooms and meeting rooms previously used by notable figures such as Adnan Menderes, Fatin Rüştü Zorlu, and Hasan Polatkan. ASBU Rector, Prof. Dr. Musa Kazım, provided Çavuşoğlu with valuable information about the historical significance of the building.
Following the informative session, a significant milestone was reached as a cooperation protocol was signed between the Ministry of National Education and ASBU. The protocol entails the allocation of special quotas by ASBU for TRNC national students enrolled in the GCE A Level program. These students will have the opportunity to pursue undergraduate programs taught entirely in the English language.
The specific areas of study covered by this protocol include Economics, Business Administration, Political Sciences and Public Administration, International Relations, Psychology, Sociology, History, English Language and Literature, Russian Translation and Interpreting, as well as Japanese Translation and Interpreting. By providing these English-language programs, ASBU aims to facilitate and enhance the educational opportunities for TRNC national students.
The signing of the protocol marks a significant step towards strengthening educational ties and promoting cultural exchange between TRNC and Turkey. It symbolizes a commitment to fostering academic collaboration and creating more inclusive learning environments.
The agreement between the Ministry of National Education and ASBU demonstrates a joint effort to empower students and equip them with the necessary knowledge and skills to thrive in an increasingly globalized world. It is expected that this collaboration will pave the way for further initiatives aimed at enhancing educational opportunities and fostering international cooperation in the field of higher education.
