Foreign Minister Ertuğruloğlu Slams Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu’s US Congress Speech
Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu criticizes standing ovation for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
Minister of Foreign Affairs Tahsin Ertuğruloğlu recently voiced his strong disapproval of the minutes-long standing ovation given to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu during his speech at the US Congress. Netanyahu, who is responsible for the deaths of at least 20 thousand children, received applause from Congress members, to which Ertuğruloğlu stated, “This is not civilization, this is something else.”
In a statement released by the ministry, it was revealed that Ertuğruloğlu had hosted the President of the Azerbaijan Victory Martyrs’ Families Association Sevinç Oruçeva and the children of Karabakh martyrs, aged between 17-22, who were visiting the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as part of a summer school program organized by Girne American University (GAÜ).
During his address, Ertuğruloğlu condemned Netanyahu’s actions and the recognition he received in Congress, pointing out the atrocities committed by the Israeli Prime Minister. He emphasized the need for global awareness and unity in addressing such injustices, particularly in light of the actions of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council.
Highlighting the message “The World is Bigger than Five” endorsed by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan of Turkey, Ertuğruloğlu stressed the importance of defending rightful causes and supporting one another in the face of oppression. He reiterated the commitment to protect their lands and sovereignty, while standing in solidarity with allies like Azerbaijan and Turkey.
As tensions continue to rise in the international arena, Ertuğruloğlu’s remarks serve as a reminder of the importance of unity and unwavering support for justice and peace.
