Foreign Minister Fidan calls on Israel to comply with international law

Breaking News: Turkish and Egyptian Foreign Ministers Call for Adherence to International Law and Aid to Palestinians
In a press statement following diplomatic talks, the Turkish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hakan Fidan, and his Egyptian counterpart, Şükri, addressed the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. Minister Fidan emphasized the need to prevent the spread of the conflict and urged Israel to abide by international law.
“We invite Israel to adhere to international law and human values,” Minister Fidan stated. “Israel’s peace should extend beyond Arab countries and be primarily focused on establishing peace with Palestinians. We strongly condemn attacks on civilians and loss of life. From the very beginning, we have been actively providing aid. Three planes have already been sent, and more will follow. Additionally, we have successfully evacuated 30 out of approximately 300 Turkish dual nationals in the region.”
Egyptian Foreign Minister, Shukri, expressed shared values and a common vision with Turkey regarding the importance of addressing the severe humanitarian consequences faced by Palestinians. He attributed the escalation of the conflict to the failure in securing the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people.
“The crisis in Gaza requires a comprehensive approach,” Minister Shukri stated. “We are currently engaging in discussions with our international partners on how to bring an end to this conflict. Our immediate priority is to provide protection to the Palestinian people, as they are currently deprived of basic necessities such as drinking water and electricity. The aid we receive needs to reach Gaza, and international public opinion and adherence to law play a crucial role in this situation. Regional cooperation is also vital in finding a swift resolution,” he continued.
The Turkish and Egyptian Ministers of Foreign Affairs underscored the importance of upholding international law, protecting civilians, and delivering essential aid to the Palestinians. As the situation continues to unfold, they are actively working towards finding comprehensive solutions and urging all parties involved to prioritize peace and diplomacy.
