Forest Fire Intervention underway in Bergama, Izmir

A fire has erupted in the forest area in Ilgindere District for reasons unknown, prompting a swift response from authorities in Izmir, Turkey.

The Izmir Regional Directorate of Forestry has deployed 4 aircraft, 4 helicopters, 27 water tankers, 8 water supply vehicles, and 6 bulldozers to the scene in an effort to combat the flames.

The fire, which started at 14.00, was met with a quick response as the first intervention was carried out just 15 minutes later at 14.15.

Efforts are ongoing as teams work tirelessly to bring the fire under control and prevent further damage to the forest area.
