Free Bridge and Highway Services Offered During Holidays

The Turkish government has announced several decisions ahead of the upcoming Eid al-Adha holiday. According to a Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette, certain highways will be toll-free from June 15 to June 24. This includes the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, except for build-operate-transfer projects.

During the Eid al-Adha celebrations, which run from June 16 to June 19, several public transportation services will be offered free of charge. This includes Başkentray, Marmaray, İZBAN, Sirkeci-Kazlıçeşme Rail System Line, and the Gayrettepe-İstanbul Airport-Arnavutköy Metro Line services. Additionally, municipalities and their affiliated unions, institutions, and businesses will also provide free transportation services during this period.

In other news, a Communiqué has been published in the Official Gazette regarding the circulation of 5 TL coins. Furthermore, public workers can expect additional payments for 2024 to be paid out in two installments, on June 14 and December 13.

These decisions aim to facilitate transportation and payments for citizens during the Eid al-Adha holiday and ensure a smooth celebration for all.
