Friday Opening for Schools- BRTK Announcement
The second semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year is set to begin on Friday, February 16, in schools associated with the Department of Primary Education, Department of General Secondary Education, and the Department of Vocational Technical Education.
Following the distribution of report cards in primary and secondary education on January 31, the February holiday will come to a close on Friday, and students will resume classes on February 16.
For schools under the Department of Primary Education, the 2023-2024 Academic Year will conclude with the distribution of report cards and completion certificates on Friday, June 14.
In schools affiliated with the General Secondary Education Department and the Vocational Technical Education Department, the 2023-2024 Academic Year will end with the distribution of report cards on Tuesday, June 11. Make-up Exams and Responsibility Exams will be conducted between June 12-21.
A total of 26,577 students are currently enrolled in 125 public and private schools associated with the Department of Primary Education. Additionally, 25,079 secondary and high school students are studying in 48 public and private schools under the General Secondary Education Department.
Furthermore, 3,894 vocational high school students are receiving education in 12 schools associated with the Vocational Technical Education Department. Approximately 400 students are enrolled in Apprenticeship and Adult Education Centers, and 6,187 teachers are employed in the public and private schools throughout the TRNC.
Additionally, the Second Stage College Entrance Exam (KGS-2) is scheduled to take place on Saturday, June 8. The Bülent Ecevit Anatolian High School (BEAL) and July 20 Science High School Placement Exam will be held on Saturday, June 22, and the Nicosia Anatolian Fine Arts High School Entrance Exam will take place on June 20 – 21.
Moreover, applications for the Vocational High School Programs of students who have completed the 8th grade will be accepted between June 20 and 25, and the placement of students in the 9th grade of vocational high schools will be announced on Friday, June 26.
