Friday Sermon Highlights Importance of Being Delicate

The sermon titled “Mawlid-i Nebi” was read in mosques across Türkiye on Friday.

The sermon reminded that the anniversary of the birth of Hazrat Muhammad will be celebrated tomorrow evening and included the following statements: “Endless praise to our Almighty Lord who has brought us to Mawlid-i Nebi once again, and may peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa, whose ummah we are honored to be a part of.”

In the sermon, where it was stated that Prophet Muhammad was the last prophet sent to complete good morals, the following was recorded:

“Our beloved Prophet emphasized that faith, deeds and morality cannot be separated from one another and that good morality should cover every area of life. He stated that a person can only be a pious and good servant to the extent of his morality. Our Prophet is the best example for all of humanity. He reminded us of our responsibilities towards our Lord, ourselves and our environment. He advised us to take care of our families as a trust from Allah. He showed us the ways of a virtuous, moral and honorable life. He taught us about right and truth, justice and mercy. Women and the elderly have reached the true respect they deserve with him. The faces of orphans and fatherless people have smiled with him. The girls who were buried alive and were looked down upon and despised have found life with him.”

The sermon also included the murder of 8-year-old Narin Güran.

“How sad that we live in a time when human values are being trampled on every passing day, when innocent children are being ruthlessly murdered, when all kinds of evil are being committed openly,” the sermon reads, and the following statements were made:

“The victims of oppressors whose hearts have darkened and consciences have become delicate and fragile bodies. In such an environment, we can never fulfill our responsibility towards our beloved Prophet by only commemorating his mawlid and remembering his memory. What falls to us today is to properly obey the Messenger of Allah and to hold on tightly to the Quran and his Sunnah, the greatest legacy he left us. To prevent other delicate people from being brutally slaughtered and to prevent innocent lives from being taken all around the world, especially in Gaza, we must bring the beautiful moral values and timeless messages of our Prophet to humanity.

It is to insistently explain that the religion of peace, Islam, the guide of life, the Holy Quran, and the prophet of mercy, Hz. Muhammad Mustafa, are the only shelter in which humanity can take refuge. It is to question not our religion and religious values, but our piety again. It is to not forget that the Sunnah of that blessed Prophet is a compass of salvation and a guide to life for all humanity. Only then will cruelty and injustice come to an end in our world, and people will live together in brotherhood and security. No one will be able to harm another’s life, property, honor and chastity, and innocent souls will not wither in the spring of their lives.

In the sermon, it was stated that the week that includes the Mevlid Night, as every year, will be celebrated as the Mevlid-i Nebi Week, and that the Presidency of Religious Affairs determined the theme of this year’s week as “Our Prophet and Personality Building” and that the life of Prophet Muhammad will be told in the programs to be held throughout the week.
